FIVE TONS OF ELECTRONICS RECYCLED

A total of 10,000 pounds of used or obsolete electronics was brought to the SECCRA Community Landfill on September 13, 2003 for recycling.  This was the first year SECCRA hosted such a collection, and despite drenching rains, the community braved the elements to get rid of their used electronics responsibly.  The electronics were collected by a contractor for dismantlement in Hallstead, PA.  SECCRA plans on continuing this service into the future, with an electronics recycling event scheduled for September 2004.  Special thanks go out to Boy Scout Troop 2, for their assistance with traffic control during the event.
