SECCRA KEEPS AREA ROADS CLEAN

Realizing that clean roads surrounding its landfill in Chatham are important to the community and wishing to be a good neighbor, SECCRA’s board of directors approved the purchase of a street sweeper. SECCRA recently took delivery of the new sweeper, and has begun sweeping Route 926 as well as paved roads within the landfill.

In addition to street sweeping, SECCRA’s tire wash is also in operation to clean mud off of tires of vehicles using the landfill. When it is muddy, vehicles are directed to the tire wash, where high pressure jets of water are sprayed on the tires, greatly reducing the amount of mud that can be tracked on the pavement.

SECCRA’s efforts to keep area roads clean also involves regular litter cleanup activities on many roads surrounding the landfill. SECCRA strives to be a good neighbor, and will continue to do so as long as we operate.
