RESPONSIBLE DRIVERS COVER THEIR LOAD

Covering your load minimizes potential dangers to people and the environment, and it's the law. SECCRA will not accept any vehicle for which the load is not covered. If a vehicle were to arrive without a cover, we will offer a tarp, purchased from a local vendor, available for sale to you, AT COST. There are no exceptions to this rule. This includes large items in a truck bed, such as major appliances. We sincerely hope that, if you are to be required to purchase a tarp in order to dispose of your waste at SECCRA, that you would use this tarp to cover your load on future trips to SECCRA. Please make sure your load is covered from the beginning of your trip, all the way to SECCRA. Thanks for your cooperation.

PENNSYLVANIA LAW The following is an excerpt from Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, Chapter 49, concerning securing of loads in vehicle-a person who owns or who operates a vehicle in violation and as a result of the violation, any item, piece, fragment or part of the load escapes and causes injury to a person or damage to another vehicle or other property commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $300 nor more than $1,000. A violation which does not result in injury to a person or damage to another vehicle or other property constitutes a summary offense, punishable by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $300.
