SECCRA ISN'T ALL ABOUT TRASH. SECCRA RECYCLES!

When SECCRA started its recycling initiative in 1987, few municipalities were provided with any recycling services. SECCRA took the lead by constructing ten centrally-located drop-off recycling centers throughout its service area. These facilities continue to operate today, accepting co-mingled plastic, glass and metal items, and mixed paper. In 2002, SECCRA expanded its recycling program to include used motor oil and cardboard.

Each recycling drop off center is serviced once or twice a week by SECCRA staff. SECCRA operates two vehicles to collect recyclables. When recyclables are collected, each load is transported to SECCRA and consolidated into larger loads at SECCRA's Intermediate Processing Center (IPC) and then transported to recyclers.
