SECCRA Awarded $250,000 PEDA Grant SECCRA Awarded $250,000 PEDA Grant

SECCRA was recently awarded a $250,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority for the addition of a new generator to its landfill gas to energy operation. The new generator will allow SECCRA Power to produce an additional 8.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year from the gas collected from its landfill. This generator will not only produce power but will help destroy methane, a greenhouse gas that is produced during waste decomposition. SECCRA Power looks forward to the addition of a new generator to their landfill gas to energy system, which has been in operation since January 2007.
