SECCRA-SWAP.COM NOW HAS “ITEMS WANTED”

CHATHAM OCTOBER 17, 2005- SECCRA-SWAP.COM, an online swap meet operated exclusively for the benefit of the citizens of southern Chester County has expanded to accept postings for “Items Wanted.”

Are you looking for a hard-to-find item, and want to see if your neighbors might be able to help you out?  SECCRA-SWAP.COM is the online place for you.

SECCRA-SWAP.COM is a public service of the Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority (SECCRA).  This website is designed as a virtual swap meet where people that have things to get rid of can get together with people who might be able to use them.

Recently, the capability has been added to allow registered users of the site to post in a category called, “Items Wanted.”  This makes it possible for the user to post a description of the things that the he or she is looking for. 

The website is very simple and entirely free to use.  People wishing to post items to give away or items wanted must first register to do so, and then the process of posting an item and description is straightforward.  Since SECCRA wishes to keep this site as a “virtual swap meet” items can be listed for free and up to $50.  Items are listed for a maximum of one month.

Anyone can browse this website for free, and then contact the person who posted the item if they are interested.  There is also the capability to sign up for e-mail updates of items posted to a person’s favorite categories, in case a particular item is wanted, but is not yet posted. 

While SECCRA’s business is taking trash, the less that goes to the landfill is better for everybody.
